Your first six months: from learning to launch

Start Teaching While You Continue Learning

You won’t need to wait until the end of the full programme to begin. After completing the Artisan Bread training, you’ll set up your instructor website and booking system step by step, learn how to run in-person and live-streaming classes, and be ready to begin teaching your first workshops after the first two months. You can then continue building your skills and adding new Dough & Nourish classes as you progress through the rest of the certification.

Who Is This Programme For?

Frequently Asked Questions

Who is the Dough & Nourish Instructor Programme for?

The programme is for people who love traditional food and want to build a meaningful teaching business. You do not need to be a professional chef, baker or experienced business owner. You need a willingness to learn, practise and support others as they develop practical food skills.

Do I need to know how to make bread or pasta before applying?

No. The programme teaches you the practical food skills first and then shows you how to teach those skills confidently to others. You will have time to practise each process in your own kitchen before delivering it as a workshop.

Do I need previous teaching experience?

No previous teaching experience is required. You will learn how to prepare and present demonstrations, explain techniques clearly, support different learners, manage a class and create a welcoming workshop experience.

How is the instructor training structured?

The programme is delivered in stages. You will learn and practise a food skill, learn how to teach it, and then prepare the corresponding workshop for delivery. This allows you to begin teaching approved workshops while continuing with the remaining modules.

Do I need to complete the entire programme before I can start teaching?

No. Once you have completed and been approved for your first teaching module—and learned to operate your instructor website, booking system and live-streaming setup—you can begin offering that approved workshop.

You may teach only the modules you have completed and been approved to deliver. This gives you the opportunity to begin building your business before completing the full certification programme.

How soon could I begin teaching workshops?

The programme is designed to help you work towards launching your first approved workshop after approximately the first two months of training. Your exact timing will depend on your progress, practical readiness and successful completion of the required module.

Can I teach both in-person and live-streaming workshops?

Yes. You will learn how to deliver welcoming, practical workshops both in person and through live streaming. You can choose the format that works best for your location, students and business.

Do I need expensive equipment for live-streaming classes?

No. The training will show you how to create a practical live-streaming setup using affordable equipment and items you may already own. You will learn how to position your camera, present demonstrations clearly, manage your students and use the supporting technology step by step.

Will I receive my own instructor website?

Yes. Your instructor website forms part of the Dough & Nourish teaching system. It provides a professional place where students can learn about you, explore your workshops and make bookings.

Will I be taught how to use my website and booking system?

Yes. Your website and booking system will be set up with you during the training. You will learn how to create and publish workshops, manage bookings, view attendees, update essential content and use your instructor dashboard.

You will not simply receive a website and be expected to figure it out alone.

What does the Mobile Kitchen Companion provide?

The Mobile Kitchen Companion helps students continue learning after their workshop. It guides them through the process in their own kitchen using visual Flow Cards, video guidance, helpful timers and voice notifications.

This gives instructors a powerful way to support students beyond the classroom without needing to repeat every instruction individually.

Can I personalise my workshop presentations and materials?

The core Dough & Nourish curriculum, teaching standards and branded learning materials must remain consistent across the instructor network. However, you can bring your own personality, experience, stories and teaching style to your workshops.

How can I earn income as a Dough & Nourish instructor?

Depending on the modules you have completed and the services you choose to offer, potential earning opportunities may include:

  • Local in-person workshops
  • Live-streaming classes
  • Private lessons
  • Small-group experiences
  • Corporate and team-building workshops
  • Restaurant or hospitality staff training
  • One-to-one coaching
  • Eligible referral earnings from Dough & Nourish online courses

You remain responsible for building your local presence, attracting students and managing your teaching business.

Does Dough & Nourish guarantee that I will earn an income?

No business can guarantee income or student bookings. Your results will depend on factors such as your location, pricing, availability, marketing, workshop quality and the effort you put into developing your business.

Dough & Nourish provides the training, curriculum, technology, branded resources and support system to help you start with a strong professional foundation.

What support will students receive after attending my workshop?

Students can continue learning through the Dough & Nourish learning platform and Mobile Kitchen Companion. Depending on the workshop, they may receive course resources, Flow Cards, instructional videos, timers and voice guidance to support them while practising at home.

Will students be asked to provide feedback?

Yes. Student feedback will form part of the Dough & Nourish quality and support system. Feedback helps instructors understand what is working well, identify areas that may need attention and continue improving the learning experience.

Will I receive ongoing instructor support?

Yes. Dough & Nourish is being developed as an instructor network, not a once-off training course. Instructors will have access to ongoing guidance, operating resources, system support and future curriculum updates relevant to the programme.

Will I receive a certificate?

Yes. Once you have successfully completed the full programme and met the required practical and teaching standards, you will receive your Dough & Nourish Instructor Certification.

Approval to teach individual modules during training does not mean that the entire certification programme has been completed.

Are there ongoing costs after joining?

Your instructor website, booking tools and connected systems require ongoing hosting and technical maintenance. The applicable monthly platform or hosting fee, together with any other clearly identified costs, will be explained before you enrol.

You remain responsible for your own normal business expenses, such as ingredients, equipment, venue costs, internet access, payment-processing fees and local marketing.

Can I build the business at my own pace?

Yes. You can decide how frequently you teach and which approved workshop formats suit your circumstances. Some instructors may begin with occasional local classes, while others may build a larger teaching schedule over time.

Do I need to register a business before applying?

Not necessarily. Business-registration and licensing requirements differ by country, state and local area. The programme will introduce the business considerations involved, but you are responsible for complying with the legal, tax, food-safety, insurance and operating requirements that apply where you live.

How do I apply?

Complete the application or book an introductory call through the Dough & Nourish website. We will discuss your goals, answer your questions and help you decide whether the Instructor Programme is the right fit for you.

Submitting an application does not automatically guarantee acceptance into the programme.
